Dr Melinda Johnston is an comic academic from Aotearoa. Currently based in Leipzig, Germany, she is an independent researcher specialising in printmaking and visual satire. She was Research Librarian, Cartoons at the Alexander Turnbull Library, National Library of New Zealand, from 2013 to 2015 and was previously a lecturer in art history at the University of Canterbury. She holds a PhD in the History of Art from University College London.[1] She organised the Cartoon Colloquium: Looking at women and cartoons today held on 15 November 2013.
